Traditionally, the sales process happened one on one, where a single person was communicating with a team. The salespeople had to manage all the communication by themselves and thus, had all the insights with them.
With the competition getting fierce and technology getting elaborate, huge teams started getting involved in the sales process. This made it difficult for the sales leads to keep a track of what has been sent via emails/messages/social networks/calls.
SmarterMe was an idea that will help the sales head get back the grip on the communication. This tool would bring all the communication done by the team into one streamlined repository. This will help the sales head trigger conversations and move the leads forward with confidence.
SmarterMe was born out of challenges in the existing number of apps and data sources that the modern business user has to search, remember, derive insights, navigate and update while trying to maintain context and get work done. This is especially hard, if not impossible, on a mobile device.
Smarter me was a collaborative tool to track the health of a lead. It involved logging all the interactions done with the lead by any of the team members and making it instantly available for the teammates to access it. It also involved a single place to collect and display all the sales collaterals.
The idea was to create a centralized repository of all the communications, attachments, receipts, calls logs, notes etc, so that whatever communication a team has had with the decisionmakers, is always available for the lead right before the actual presentation.
The official emails are linked to CRMs anyways, the challenge was to fit everything into a tiny screen so as to bring order to the chaos.
with each lead, there were IQ screens that would compile all the communication happening across the teams and the logs. These were the most critical factors in the app. The screens were also designed to contain social media connections, potential introducers and social media insights.
These wireframes were later converted into visual designs, initially by me, although later by a team of visual designers
Since the product was being created for a tiny screen, every new feature added, has to be tested thoroughly for ergonomic purposes. We chose volunteers with "fat fingers" to assist us in this task.
